How to Schedule Your Project

Complete the Initial Inquiry

  • Please submit your inquiry here

  • Please include as much detail as possible in your message, including:

    • A photo of the current wall or space

    • Wall dimensions (height and width)

    • Any inspiration photos, desired materials or finishes, and your ideal timeline

Consultation

  • We offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation or a paid in-home visit. If you book your project, the in-home consultation fee is credited toward the final invoice.

Estimate

  • You’ll receive a written estimate within 3 business days. The estimate will include labor hours, material costs, and a proposed start date. Estimates are valid for 14 calendar days.

Booking

  • To secure your project on our schedule, you’ll need to approve the estimate in writing and submit the required deposit (see Section 2).

Pre-Start Confirmation

  • One week before your project begins, we’ll confirm all final details—such as access instructions, paint colors, outlet locations, or TV/fireplace measurements.

Rescheduling

  • We understand things happen. If you need to move your project date, rescheduling fees apply based on the notice given:​​

    • If you reschedule with less than 7 days’ notice, a $250 rescheduling fee applies.

    • If Salley’s Home Improvement initiates the reschedule for any reason (such as weather delays, supplier issues, or personal emergencies), we will apply a $50 discount for projects under $1,000 or a $100 discount for projects $1,000-$3,999 and a $200discount for any projects over $4,000, as a courtesy.​​

    • If you reschedule with 7 to 13 days’ notice, a $100 rescheduling fee applies.
    • If you reschedule 14 or more days in advance, there is no fee. You may reschedule once within 90 days of your original date.

Change Orders

  • Once the project has been booked, any changes to the scope or design must be documented in writing and approved before proceeding. A 20% deposit on any additional costs is required before extra work begins. Large changes may affect the overall timeline and completion date.

Workmanship Guarantee

  • We take pride in the quality of our work. If a workmanship-related issue comes up within 6 months of completion, we’ll return and fix it at no labor cost to you.

Deposits

  • For projects under $2,000, a 50% deposit is required within 3 days of estimate approval.

  • For projects between $2,000 and $10,000, a 25% deposit is required within 5 days of estimate approval. For projects over $10,000, a 10% deposit is required within 7 days of estimate approval.

  • Deposits reserve your spot on our calendar and are applied toward the final invoice or first progress payment. Once materials are purchased, deposits are non-refundable.

  • We accept ACH transfers, debit/credit cards, Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash App Klarna & Afterpay . Custom or specialty materials are non-returnable and non-refundable once ordered

Cancellation & Refunds

  • If you cancel 30 or more days before the scheduled start date, your full deposit will be refunded (minus any custom material costs).

  • If you cancel between 15 and 29 days before the start date, 50% of your deposit will be refunded.

​

  • If you cancel with less than 15 days’ notice, the deposit is non-refundable and any custom materials or prep time may be invoiced separately.

​

  • If we show up and cannot access the jobsite, the visit is considered a short-notice reschedule, and a $250 fee will be charged to continue.

​

  • If we cancel your project for any reason unrelated to payment or jobsite safety, you’ll receive a full refund of your deposit and we’ll help refer another trusted contractor if possible.

Communication & Approvals

  • All communications will be handled by Damon Salley Jr., and you’ll receive his direct contact information upon booking.

  • We respond to DMs and emails within 24 business hours.

  • Paint colors, layout changes, and design selections must be approved in writing (email or text) to avoid delays.

Agreement

  • By submitting your deposit or allowing work to begin, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. This is the most current version and overrides all previous versions.
